All About Jenna

I was born and raised in Greenville, North Carolina, and I am a proud first-generation college graduate and two-time East Carolina University alumna. I earned my BS in Elementary Education and MAEd in Reading and Literacy Education from ECU.

Before joining the Thomas Harriot College of Arts and Sciences as an Academic Advisor, I spent more than 20 years in public education with Pitt County Schools. Throughout my career, I served as a classroom teacher, Academically and Intellectually Gifted (AIG) teacher, and Multi-Classroom Teacher, supporting students and families while also coaching and mentoring educators. I am also a National Board Certified Teacher. Today, I advise Biology and Biochemistry students and enjoy helping them navigate their academic journey at ECU, explore their goals, and develop a plan to reach them. As a first-generation college graduate myself, I understand how valuable it can be to have someone available to answer questions, provide guidance, and help make college feel a little easier to navigate.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and family, attending ECU sporting events and other Pirate activities, traveling to the mountains and the coast, taking golf-cart rides, enjoying evenings by the fire, and making memories with family and friends. Go Pirates!
