Beta Beta Beta (TriBeta) is an honor society for students, particularly undergraduates, dedicated to improving the understanding and appreciation of biological study and extending boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research.
Second Floor
Ables Lab
Dr. Elizabeth Ables
Location: LSBB 2nd floor lobby
The Ables lab uses genetic and cell biological approaches to understand how stem cells are regulated by steroid hormones.
Anllo Lab
Dr. Lauren Anllo
Location: LSBB 2nd floor lobby
The Anllo lab is working to understand the formation of the cellular environment that supports stem cells during embryonic development. Projects in our lab use the fruit fly as a model system and employ incisive genetic tools and live imaging of cell behaviors to uncover mechanisms that regulate the formation of the stem cell microenvironment.
Imaging Core
Dr. Silvana Pasetto
Location: LSBB 2303
The ECU Imaging Core facility will introduces you to various unique methodologies, from light and scanning electron microscopy to image analysis techniques. These methods can be used on specimens ranging from molecules to cells to whole animals.
Schmidt Integrative Cellular Bioenergetics Lab
Dr. Cameron Schmidt
Location: LSBB 2201
Our lab group is working to better understand the bioenergetic systems that underly cellular physiology. Our primary focus is on mammalian reproduction, but we also work collaboratively to solve challenging problems in other areas of clinical and basic science.
Third Floor
Biology Graduate Studies
Dr. John Stiller
Location: LSBB Third floor lobby
The Biology Graduate Programs are for individuals who are interested in pursuing higher-ranked advancements in Biology and Life Science related careers by expanding and deepen knowledge and skills through the graduate level education.
