Research Interests

My research focuses on strategies to improve student engagement, scientific literacy, and the development of research and team science competencies. The strategies on which I mainly focus involve community-engaged learning opportunities and student exposure to authentic research, such as through participatory science approaches and course-based undergraduate research experiences (CUREs). I am also interested in how students work with peers in these types of educational settings.
