Rebecca Asch and Ph.D. student Brian Bartlett awarded funding to investigate the impact of climate change on National Marine Sanctuary system.
Assistant Professor Rebecca Asch and Ph.D. student Brian Bartlett were one of seven teams across the nation awarded funding by the NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) Climate Program Office to investigate how climate change is impacting the National Marine Sanctuary system. Together with Cheryl Harrison at Louisiana State University, Asch and Bartlett will how three reef fish species, including the endangered Nassau grouper, will change where and when they reproduce under global warming. This team will also examine how these changes will impact the connections between different fish populations inside and outside of three National Marine Sanctuaries.
