Today we celebrate Pirate Nation Gives!

Support ECU’s Department of Biology during our annual “Pirate Nation Gives” fundraising event today on March 20, 2024.

Pirate Nation Gives is a 24-hour online fundraising event that allows departments such as the Department of Biology to encourage donations in support of its efforts. Please consider donating to either our departmental priority fund or to our departmental scholarship pool on March 20, 2024. The minimum donation is $5. Our faculty, staff and students appreciate any support that you can offer.

Gifts to our departmental priority fund help us to support departmental events (e.g, invited speakers and commencement ceremonies), faculty and staff professional development, our labs, and recruitment of faculty and graduate students. Gifts to our departmental scholarship pool help us to provide scholarships to our undergraduate and graduate students.

Graduating students who donate $20.24 to any fund on March 20, 2024 are eligible to receive philanthropy honor cords from ECU Advancement to wear at graduation.

Pirate Nation Gives begins at midnight on March 20 and your gift on March 20, 2024 can help the Department of Biology compete in university wide challenges that can augment your donation to our department further.  For example, if one of our funds receive the first gift for Pirate Nation Gives after midnight on March 20, that fund will earn an additional $3,000! Also, the fund that receives the greatest number of donations from students will receive an additional $2, 000.
