Smartchem 170 and 200 Discrete Analyzer

The Smartchem 170 and 200 Discrete Analyzer (Unity® Scientific) are discrete colorimeter analyzers for environmental samples (e.g., water, soil/sediment, and plant samples).  The Smartchem 170 and 200 Discrete Analyzer can analyze nitrate, ammonia, ortho-phosphate, Kjeldahl nitrogen and phosphate, chloride, and other EPA protocols.

Total Organic Carbon (TOC) Analyzer and Total Nitrogen (TN) Analyzer – Shimadzu Scientific Instruments, Inc.

Measures the amount of Total Organic Carbon (TOC) and Total Nitrogen (TN) from the same injection.  TOC is measured though the combustion catalytic oxidation and nondispersive infrared (NDIR) method, while TN is quantified by high-temperature catalytic combustion and chemiluminescence detection.

Fluoride Selective Electrode

Measures the concentration of the free fluoride ions (F–) in aqueous solution.

UV/VIS Spectrophotometers – Beckman DU640

Analyzes the absorption radiation of several components (i.e. the intensity of light being absorbed) in aqueous solution.

Trilogy Laboratory Fluorometer – Turner Designs

Analyzes the concentration of fluorescent materials, including chlorophyll a (in vivo and extracted).
