“Blackbeard” the Waveglider
Function
“Blackbeard” is an acoustic Waveglider used to navigate the Atlantic Ocean off North Carolina’s coastline to study underwater noise and track tagged marine life to better understand the ocean environment. ECU is the only UNC System school with a waveglider.
Instrumentation
Blackbeard has the capability to handle multiple instruments. Inquire with Dr. Luczkovich for details.
